As with most of my projects, I started this one by asking a question instead of looking at data. I wondered if we could move past nostalgia to see what real performance actually means.

 

Romanian football sparks strong debates, making it a rare mix of deep emotions and plenty of data to explore.

 

I created a timeline-based scrolling story that compared different generations using things like qualifications, match results, goals, and tournament rankings. Instead of using flashy visuals or dramatic effects, I chose a simple and clean design. My goal was for the history itself to provide the emotion, not the visuals.

 

After I published the project, I was completely surprised by what happened next. Instead of the usual opinions and arguments you might expect with such a hot topic, people began sharing missing pieces of history. They sent rare photos of footballers from the 1930s, shared stories about forgotten matches and wins, and offered details I hadn’t known about.
