This project addresses a critical education issue with deliberate simplicity. According to UNESCO data, Romania has the second-highest percentage (12%) of school-age children not enrolled in primary education within the European Union. Only Bulgaria fares worse at 15%. These two countries are the only EU members with non-enrollment rates exceeding 10%.

The visualization intentionally employs a straightforward, unembellished approach, and provides a clear snapshot of educational inequity that demands attention and action. Its purpose isn’t to demonstrate technical or creative innovation but to clearly communicate a troubling social reality. The simplicity serves a specific purpose: ensuring the message is immediately clear to everyone who encounters the visualization.
